moms, skin products for your little ones (opinions)?5

I am thinking about developing my own skin care line.

My skin care line is not going to be tested on animals and is going to be 100% organic as it is better for the enviroment and humans big and small.

As a parent, what would you personally prefer in a skin care line for your child? cost medium? ingrediants? purpose? (baby/toddler/child products will be : shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, diaper rash cream and massage oil)

thanks!
"Johnson’s" also contains chemicals that I wouldn’t put on my dog more less my child.

I love Burt’s Bees because it is all the things you mentioned, and also smells nice. I have a son, so most of the natural/organic products out there were too heavily scented with lavender oil and made him smell "girly."

One note on diaper cream: Like many earth-friendly moms, I use cloth diapers. With cloth, you can’t use any diaper cream that contains paraffin, lanolin, mineral oil, or petrolatum, because they can waterproof the diapers. The need for cream is rare with cloth, but it does come up from time to time. I use Burt’s Bees when I need to, but it would be great to have more choices out there!

Help for bla-winter skin!?3

I just had a baby about 2 months ago, so the lack of sleep is one thing I am fighting these days. In addition to under-eye circles, my skin is horribly dry and dull. Any suggestions of products or skin-care secrets that you swear by to make your skin look fabulous this time of year?

I know it sounds really daft but make sure you are drinking lots of water, especially if you are breastfeeding; make sure you’re getting your vitamins etc too. It’s the best thing for skin. I’ve been using the No 7 range from Boots recently, including the Protect and Perfect serum and so far this year no yucky dry bits on my face, hurrah! It’s not cheap but a little goes a long way and is worth every penny. Also exfoliate a couple of times a week to get shot of the dull skin.

I’m afraid I have no solution for the under-eye circles apart from use an undereye cream and gently stroke on twice a day. You don’t need an expensive one, it’s the massage that makes it effective. That and plenty of water and vits. Saying that, I still have dark circles and my offspring are 7 and 9. I’m hoping they fade when they leave home, hehe.

Congratulations on the wee one anyway; have a wonderful first Christmas.

Edited to add: dear god, I’d be eating the above recipe, it sounds wonderful!

Badger Baby Diaper Balm - 21g0

Badger Baby Diaper Balm - 21g

A sunny, golden yellow balm with the subtle scent of Chamomile and Calendula. These are very safe herbs, traditionally used to calm and soothe babies, and ideal for baby skin care. This is also an excellent product for people with sensitive skin or with skin conditions. For babies, use it to prevent and soothe the itching associated with diaper rash and cradle cap… can also be used for a soothing baby massage. Organic Baby Balm makes a great gift. Ingredients: *Extra Virgin Olive Oil, *Golden Yellow Beeswax, *Castor Oil, *Calendula Extract and Essential Oil of *Roman Chamomile. * = Certified Organic Testimonials: “My daughter Gabriela (now almost 8 months) suddenly broke out in a diaper rash - bright red, and very sore. She was so raw, and peeling (it looked like a sunburn), so I didnt know if I should even put anything on it. But I thought that Badger was the one product gentle enough for this. And it was!! I applied the Badger just one time, and in the morning, the rash was almost completely gone! Her skin was back to its normal color, and Gabriela was happy again. I shouldnt be surprised, but I was, that it worked after just one application!!! Thanks, Badger!!” - Elizabeth Hi! Just wanted to let you know how much we love your Badger Baby Balm. My two-year-old has very sensitive skin, and has developed a bad case of eczema this winter. The doctor gave us some names of creams to use, and said that if those didn’t work then we’d have to go to a steroid cream. The other lotions [2 popular brands] made her rash worse. Your Badger Baby Balm is the only thing that will moisturize her skin and stop the itching, without stinging. I’m so glad that we didn’t have to put her on that steroid cream. Thanks so much.” - Meriwether G.

What is the safest/best baby skin care products?10

I just had a baby and I don’t know what ti use? I think they all have chemicals in them.

We have a pediatrician and a dermatologist in the family. Both agree: Dove unscented soap for baths, Eucerin unscented lotions after the bath, Huggies UNSCENTED natural care baby wipes, fewer rashes from pampers than any other diaper. Basically you need to avoid perfume and dye in everything including laundry detergent (Tide Free) and liquid fabric softener (Downy unscented).

Best of luck to you with your new baby!

How can I help my pregnancy acne?2

My skin is terrible, its dry and super oily and breaking out everywhere and I’m getting little sprinkles of body acne. Any advice?
Know any products that helped clear up pregnancy acne?
I can’t use my regular skin care regime because the products contain Salicylic Acid’s and other ingredients that can cross the placenta to the baby.

Soap and water. If that doesn’t work than you’ll just have to deal with it. I’ve had horrible acne throughout this pregnancy and nothing I’ve done has cleared it up.
